Saguaro Regional

Our Regional, November 6 & 7 was a huge success. Pat K, Fran Ellis, Deb Ashmore, Jerry Vickers, and I met at the Fire Station on Friday the 5th to set up. With the teamwork from some of our members, it went smoothly. We had early registration and breakfast to start us off. We started at 9 AM Saturday, and worked until lunch with a break in between, and had door prizes. Lunch was a great success with all making there own sandwiches, chips, and desserts. We ended the day with a lot accomplished. Our wine and cheese party Saturday night was also a good turn out. Musette Young and her hubby showed us many great ideas about glass, and share the pictures they took that day. Sunday’s class was just as busy, but we started the day out with rain. Yes, it does rain here at times, so our chili fest was a good turn out.

Our theme was Harvest Fest, and the teachers were magnificent. Pat Lackey, Sue Cragar, Carol Sconyers, and Randy Ashenfeldter, out did there self’s. Their class’s fix right into our theme. A great big thank you to them for making our
Regional a great one. Randy even made a whistle and donated it to our silent auction, which was also a huge success. Thank you to everyone who donated to it.

We had a full house of members representing chapters from Calif., Colorado, Ok., Alaska, Sagebrush, Desert Rose and Saguaro chapter.

Pat Lackey announce that she was retiring from teaching at any more regionals, and that this was one of the best ones she had taught at. We wish her the best in all of her future activities. As the old says goes “You can’t keep the old gal down”.

The responds that we have gotten back from all who attended have been greatly received. With all of the chapters and members working together, we all can have a great regional and retreat and enjoy the fun and work we put into it.

May you all have a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
