You may use china
paint to enhance a decal on any item. The sky can be made more blue
or the grass more green or flowers added. Whatever your desire is
to enlarge the decal. If you put a decal on a porcelain item it should
be fired at cone 015. If for some reason the decal has popped off
then you can use china paint to repair it. If the item has been fired
at a cone 06 then the decal is fired at a cone 018. WHY THE DIFFERENCE?
Porcelain glaze is a high fired glaze, using cone 6 and the glaze
is harder and takes hotter firing for the decal to sink in to the
glaze, where cone 06 is not as hard. When using china paint you fir
the item at cone 018 no matter what glaze is used. Also it might take
two applications of china paint. Have fun.
