Easy & Elegant Gun Metal Look

Supplies:
Piece that has been Cleaned & Bisque fired to shelf cone 04. This technique lends itself beautifully to Chiminarias.
CY106 Harness Leather
SY1024 Antique Pewter
SB807 #6 Fan Glaze Brush
SB806 #6 Round or SB803 #4 Liner

Directions:
To 04 bisque:
1. Apply three coats of CY106 Harness Leather.
2. When thoroughly dry, use two coats of SY1024 (allowing it to dry between coats) to do design work using your #6 round or #4 liner (brush choice depends on the size of your piece) creating a pleasing pattern. I tried to keep a balanced design by doing the stroke in the middle then alternating from one side to the other.
3. Fire to shelf cone 06

I have tried this technique using other Courtyard colors and the other Specialty (SY series) Metallic colors and have been pleased with all of the results. Each combination gives you something a little different. Also try 1 coat - 3 coats of the designing color keeping in mind that they will move on a vertical surface when applied heavily or when firing the colors that require 04 for maturation.
